Now Kirby is heading into an entirely new adventure with Kirby and the World Beyond, and this time Nintendo appears ready to give the little pink hero a much bigger playground.
Announced as a brand-new 3D adventure for Nintendo Switch 2, Kirby and the World Beyond will let players freely explore a vast new world while putting Kirby’s famous Copy Abilities to creative use.
And yes, that means there is probably going to be a lot of swallowing.
Kirby Is Back in Full 3D
Kirby has already proven that he works brilliantly in a 3D world. The Forgotten Land showed just how much fun it can be to take Kirby’s strange collection of powers and let players loose in larger environments.
Kirby and the World Beyond looks ready to take that idea even further.
Nintendo says players will be able to freely explore the World Beyond, suggesting this could be one of Kirby’s biggest adventures yet. Instead of simply moving from one small stage to another, the new game appears to put exploration much closer to the centre of the experience.
For a character who can copy the abilities of almost anything he encounters, that sounds like a recipe for pure Nintendo chaos.

Will there be a new sword form? Probably.
Something completely unexpected? Almost certainly.
A power that makes everyone ask, “Wait, Kirby can do that now?” We wouldn’t bet against it.

The Switch 2 gives Nintendo a new opportunity to build larger and more detailed worlds, and Kirby and the World Beyond could become one of the games that shows what Nintendo’s new hardware can do with one of its most beloved franchises.
Of course, Kirby games are rarely about graphics alone.
The best Kirby adventures are packed with personality, surprises and those moments where you suddenly discover something so strange that you have to stop for a second and wonder how anyone came up with it.
